I've got a Steyr Kropatschek M1886 rifle and would like to shoot the thing, but I am having trouble finding brass or dies to make the ammo. Where can I get the components for making this stuff? Furthermore, I've seen several different names for the cartridge it is chambered for. I read it is called 8mm Kropatschek, is that right?

I THINK you have an 8x60R Kropatschek. Data for you:
8x60R Kropatschek Cartridge - Load Data
Here's what I have for some info:

The 8x60 Guedes M85 Portuguese, which was used in the Austrian made Kropatschek rifle, which has a tube-magazine fed receiver.
175 grain lead bullet ( Lyman #321232 ) 75 grains of Fg
175 grain lead bullet ( Lyman #321232 ) 28 grains of IMR 4198

Brass can supposedly be formed from 9.3x74R if you can find any of that around. Trim the cases to 2.358 and then run 'em into an 8x57mm sizing die until the breech closes on the case.
