What's your favorite .22?
Some of my funnest days shooting are taking a brick of .22 ammo out and shooting for hours. I have several but I probably enjoy my Ruger SR-22 the most, tough call though

My SP101. Favorite rifle is the Nylon 66.

Just in from the back yard where I put a few rounds through the Ruger! :D
Funny thing is I just could not warm to it at first. The grips, while nice looking just did not fit me. I put the Hogue's on it and it was a metamorphosis. Don't look as pretty but shoots like a house on fire! Excuse the crud, I did not clean it before I took the picture.

Here's my all time favorite 22 rifle, an extensively modified 10/22 nestled in glassed with rear tang action screw french Walnut stock, and an bull barrel blank I turned down to sporter contour. Pic of it & a 10 shot target shot from 50 yards on solid bench with hand selected, weighed, measured, rim thickness, match ammo. My all time favorite 22 pistol is my old MK 2 scoped Ruger Competition Target. It'll get 1/2" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. Ask Winds how accurate they are-she's shot them.

The wooden stock is what I trained my kids on, and the one at the bottom is my newest and fondest .22. The top one is my son's .17 HMR Air gun Trigger Wood Shotgun Gun barrel

my K17 for looking at
my Marlin 39A because my father handed it down to me
my Ruger 10/22 bull barrel thumbhole stock because its a tack driver
my Ruger MK II because it has the finest trigger of any gun I own
my Ruger Single 10 just cause a single action pistol is cooool!
my M&P 15-22 because it is super cool and super fun to shoot..especially suppressed!

Favorite: My mother's old first pattern J 22. It points good, hits consistently, and if you do your part, you can get groups tight enough to cover with a dime at 25 feet.

main reasons it's the favorite are the last owner and it's just funny to watch someone who brags about never missing, struggle to hit the coke can you set in front of the berm, 10 yards away, them to blame the pistol, adn then you load up a fresh mag, and dance the can along the berm, making them look like a fool. :D

Accuracy favorite, my grandfather's old Colt Officer's Model competition Bull's Eye revolver in .22 LR, on a .38 frame. I'm not quite as good as he was with it, but I am getting close to that ragged hole, 5 shot group, he routinely would shoot with it.

it's just such a well set up revolver that I forget that it's not part of my hand.

the rest of the time, it's pretty much whatever .22 i have with in the truck, when a plinking opportunity comes up. Picking a single favorite would be like me picking which of my two labs i would keep, and which one I wouldn't.

My favorite is a single-shot bolt action J.C. Higgins, for sentimental reasons. (not shown)

My best shooter is a Chinese JW-15 (center) Air gun Trigger Wood Line Shotgun

The funnest would be the S&W 15-22's. My wife and I shoot those off hand at a spinner target set at 25-30 yards.

Locutus, I have my Grandfather's Model 12, octagonal barrel, built in 1921. Never fired it, but your post has inspired me. THANK YOU. I have 100rds of SV CCI when I get to that point.

He was recovering from a broken back, went (per doctor's orders) to his cousin's farm in Canada for the summer, and shot it at squirrels and rabbits from a prone position, while his back was soaking up the northern sun. Six months of that. Probably brought a fair amount of meat to the table...

My personal favorite is the Marlin 99M1 given to me by my boss back in 1983. It may not be as convenient as my 10/22, but the fun meter rings true for the 99M1, even though my preference is for box (versus tube) mags..

At any given moment it could vary.

But the one that seems to get the most love lately,,,
Is my Mauser es340B single-shot .22 rifle.

If it isn't that one rifle,,,
It's one of my 5 other single-shots.

It's fun to occasionally do a mag-dump with one of my semi's,,,
But for the most part I enjoy slow leisurely shooting much better.
