So I been looking for a open carry modern Kydex holster for my Pistol.
Retention highly desired.

There really isnt anything out there specifically for our guns (yet).
I know I am not the nly one lookimng so I wanted to share what I found.

Today I discovered by accident that my Taurus fits quite nicely into the Blackhawk Serpa Sportster Hostler for the M&P9 full size.

http://tacticalgear.com/blackhawk-s...holster-gun-metal-grey#/5559/0,3383,740,796/1

It slides right in and out yet experiences full retention in it

it wiggles a bit more than the MP9 does ...but in the dimensions that matter (thickness of slide and trigger guard), they are actually surprisingly close.

The barrel of the Taurus of course is not flush with the bottom "mouth" of the holster like the MP9 full size is (which is an inch longer barrel) but it seems to do no harm ( tho I am sure it will bug purists)

center of gravity is also fine since the slightly looser fit is made up by the fact that the shorter gun has its center of gravity a bit deeper into the holster.
Still can be pulled quite easily and reaching the release button with your finger works just like on the MP9

I do not own a MP9C (compact) or a MP9 C holster but I suspect that might even fit a tad better.

just wanted to let foilks know since I looked for along time to find a holster that is decent and has retention and is affordable.

And IMO this will work quite well in a pinch.

I know holster snobs raise their noses at 25 dollar holsters but I just took it through a pistol course (using the MP9) and it worked great.

I am not a full time cop so a more expensive holster (which will be even better I am sure) is not needed since this holster really answered the mail for me.

I bought 2, one for each of my MP9s

I bought the Cytac Paddle Holster from the seller Sumtop on Amazon.

It fits the PT111 great and feels comfortable as can be even after wearing it for 10 hours straight, I use it as my daily carry at work as a gas station clerk. The button is exposed enough so that in a quick reaction you'll hit it, but not so big that if someone were to go for it I'd fear their ability to draw it successfully. I highly recommend it.
