I can't personally comment on the CW380 vs the LCP II, but I do have the CT380 and the LCP II.
The CT380 has better sights. The "pumpkin on a post" is just easier to see than all black. It should be noted that the CT380 has higher profile sights than the CW380.
The LCP II is easier to operate, the slide being much easier to rack.
The CT380 is a much softer shooter than the LCP II.
They are both very reliable, if you feed them the ammunition they like. I reload and work up reloads according to what functions best in the pistol. I start with starting loads and work upwards until I get a load that functions reliably. The LCP II will function with lighter loads. The CT380 needs near maximum loads to reliably function.
The CT30 is just large enough to get a bit of purchase for my pinkie finger, call it a 2 & 1/2 finger grip. The LCP II gives a solid 2 finger grip with the extended base plate. I do not like the LCP II with the flat base plate. It's about a 1 & 1/2 finger grip.
The trigger I can't make up my mind which one I like best. The CT380 has what I believe is the perfect trigger for social work. It is long with a lighter pull weight than the LCP II. The LCP II has more of a target trigger feel. It has a bit of take up, which I don't like, then has a crisp if somewhat heavy break. I probably would not carry the LCP II if it had a trigger with a lighter break, it being single action or something like single action, but I am comfortable with it as is. I group just a bit better with the LCP II. I attribute this to the crisper trigger.
Finally, the CT380 is easier to clear than the LCP II. Drop the mag and rack the slide, the loaded round pops right out. Not so with the LCP II. The loaded round likes to hang up between the breech face and the ejector port.
Which one do I like best? Hard to say, I like them both.
I took the plunge tonight. Bought the LCP II, just got done giving it a good cleaning, going to take it in the back yard tomorrow and see how she shoots
Hello. I recently purchased the LCP2 as well and really love it! I did see a couple good videos where guys were having failures and it seemed to be with flat tipped ammo. (I’ve only used rounded tip and it seems great!) Enjoy your new toy!
I have the original LCP and have shot it a ton with zero fails. Im sure the LCP II is a good gun too and Ruger has fantastic customer service. It's a great option to have when you cannot conceal a larger handgun. I carry mine mostly in the summer because you can throw them a pocket easily and not have to worry about printing.
