Want to put a red dot optic on my Beretta PX4 Storm, 9mm.
Looking at several, any recommendations? Vortex Viper 3mm dot, and several others.
Question: would an optic that fits the above gun... also fit on the PX4 Storm, sub compact in .40mm? The rear of the slide looks exactly the same on both guns.
Just curious if anyone has had any experience... how the Viper sight held up under 9 and/or .40mm recoil.
Are there any other optic red dots that you all would recommend? Trying to stay below $300 if possible.
I'd go with a C-More Railway that and a mount will be under $300. Your field of view will be much better, your dot will appear brighter and stay round with no star burst affect to it.
I recently bought a Vortex Venom from Optics Planet for $180 delivered. You will have to negotiate for that price. A flag will come up if you sit on the optic location for a few minutes offering a deal. Call dont use chat.
I have the Crimson Trace "Green" on my 1911 .38 Super. I have the Crimson Trace "Red" on an M-4. The Green is far superior to the Red. I have had a number of Reds over the years. I will only buy Green in the future. Try before you buy.
What kind of mount are you planning on. The PX4 Storm full size and compact have the same rotating barrel. The subcompact uses a traditional tipping barrel .
Having enough slide space to accommodate the mount and sight could be a bit of an issue.
I bought a M&P CORE 9mm... onto which I put a Vortex/Venom, 3mm red dot... my PX4 Storm was a bit difficult to put an optic red dot on... so I decided to try a Smith Performance Center pistol.
I am impressed so far... this gun has some upgrades on it as well as being ported... upgrade sear, barrel and the optics fit right on the base that came with it... very nice weapon.
I got the shorter barrel... 4.5 rather than the 5"... not that it makes that much difference but I liked the feel better.
Thanks for the advice... I opted for the Smith and so far I am impressed...
I have used a lot of red dot, or reflex sights. In my personal experience is that the cheaper ones were not up to the task with one exception. I picked a couple up on sale for around $28 and have used them on a S&W 22 pistol and on a Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine.
