I been tinkering with my rifle and I am well satisfied with the results. I put the Leopold bases and rings on it. I bought the Vortex Crossfire II 3x12x56 Hog Hunter Scope. I don't handload bullets yet, but I found out that my rifle loves the factory Winchester 140 Silver Ballistic tips. I shot 3 times to see how it was gonna group, which it clover leafed them. " picture below " then I set it up 3" high at 100 yards. Then I fired it out to the 300 yard target and it was 2 inches low " picture below " I am very excited on how well it's shooting with the factory bullets.

Thanks buddy. I was surprised to see how Well it likes the factory bullets. I was wanting it set up to where 0-300 yards I put it on his shoulder and squeeze the trigger. So I'm figuring 350-400 yards put it at the top of his back and squeeze the trigger and I should be good

If you visualize a pipe 6" or 8" in diameter, the point of aim being exact center of the pipe, then zero so that the bullet don't rise more than either 3" (for 6" pipe) or 4" (for 8" pipe), or drop an equal amount as long as it don't go outside the desired amount of rise or drop, then you have a "no think" distance of however many yards it is for your rifle/load/zero, from muzzle, all the way out to max distance before the bullet drops outside the pipe. Another term is MPBR, or maximum point blank range. Once thus zeroed, you won't have to worry about range out to 300, 350, or 400 yards, depending on above factors of zero. Simply throw up to shoulder, and squeeze trigger when on target. Naturally most (including ME) will need a rest to be truly effective at longer effective range. After the maximum effective range is the farthest you can hit consistently.

I understand exactly what you saying. My shooting range is only 300 yards long. I wish it was 400 yards. That way I can keep going past 300 to see when my bullet does drop passed the kill zone. But as of right now I'll just have to be satisfied with what I got. I know it's exactly 3 inches high at 100 yards and at 300 yards Its exactly 2 inches low. Just guessing I should be good to 330 yards without moving my scope up any. Just put it center of shoulder and squeeze.
