Hello to all of you shooters and gun enthusiast out there! I am in the process of opening an all-purpose gun range in North Carolina and I need your help! This range will accommodate all types of shooters, from sighting in your rifles for the hunting season to learning about tactical style shooting. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced shooter, your opinion matters! So please fill out this very quick survey and help me create the ultimate gun range for all shooters in North Carolina!

Please share this post with anyone you know that would support this range and thank you!

personally, i don't care for surveys. haven't shot at any public or private ranges in years since we put up two on the farm. so other than traveling to the other side to shoot at one of them, and the other in the backyard, i couldn't really be of much help in what other shooters are looking for in gun range. best of luck though.

one of my benefits is that i can shoot anytime, weather permitting, and never have to deal with anyone other than maybe my family members. no strangers and no idiots are allowed.

I haven't been to a formal range since the 1990s. I set up a 150 yard range behind my house. I don't like shooting with strangers.

Sir,
First I would like to state that I became a member for the purpose of gaining more knowledge on what the shooters in North Carolina want from a public range. It would be a waste of time and useless to all of us if I was to create an initial posting about pizza toppings or cornbread just to ensure I had previous postings.
Secondly if you would like references, I would be happy to oblige so that you may see I am not a hoax or do not mean business. I have deployed to over 20 countries including Iraq, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Jordan where I have actually used tactical and shooting skills in an operational environment. I have instructed hundreds of Marines and civilians how to properly shoot and have myself been qualified to do so through the Marine Corps and Department of State.
Lastly with all of this anti-gun activity that has swept the media, we gun enthusiast and shooters should be driven to find solutions instead of standing idly by behind a computer. It is obvious that proper training and education on firearms and the manipulation of firearms is not being capitalized on and I wish to remedy this. So again, help me create the range that is wanted and needed so we can help save American lives. This survey on average takes less than 3.5 minutes and in that short time your are helping me tremendously.

might have smoothed things over a bit had you stopped over at the Introductions Section of the forum and posted an intro, telling us a little about yourself, and your goals. gotten a little friendly with the members here first, and let people get to know you a lit bit, rather than just launching into your first post of wanting what some here consider sort of private information to a complete stranger, after all, you only had what, three posts?

and part of the reason i don't participate in surveys is many times in the past, they wanted sometimes private information about me, that i didn't feel comfortable sharing with strangers, and also not knowing just how private that information would be kept. i can count the exact number of people i trust without any hesitation on one hand, and guess what? you're not one of them!

so maybe stick around a while, participate in some of the forums subjects and get to know people and let them get to know you somewhat, then maybe start over again. maybe you would get some more positive feedback if people trusted your intentions and got to know you a little bit.

just some friendly free advice. your's to use or discard at your discretion.

I appreciate your advice sir! I am here to become more knowledgeable and you have definitely just given me some much needed insight.

As for the surveys, I assure you that I have made it my mission to keep it as user-friendly as possible as I am aware that people do not like to just give out their information. There are only three questions that relate to demographics and that is just for business preparation and nothing more. Through the site I am using, surveymonkey, the responses from each individual are not visible to me. This survey is strictly focused on trying to find out what North Carolinian shooters want and need to learn and become better marksman.

Again, thank you very much for this insight! I will try my best to capitalize on your time spent to give myself some wisdom.

I will say this about ranges and why I bend over backwards to go to friends property whenever I can.
More than price is the attitude you get walking into a lot of these places. I completley understand you have STRANGERS using guns in your business so you have to be very vigilant and it is no laughing matter, but i have been shooting for long enough and most of my friends are ex military. When a 21 year old is rude to us before we even unzip our gun bags it makes me want to walk right out.

Maybe it is because we currently live in Austin and they are all a bit strange down here ( hence why we are moving to NC) so we will try and check the range out.

Good luck and forgive the ramblings of a grouch!
