My favorite plinking rifle is my Winchester 9422 XTR .22LR. Made in the late 70's, I think. It was a wedding gist to my dad from his dad. It was the first gun I ever shot and the one I've put the most rounds though. Its killed squirrels, rabbits, crows, and a lot of aluminum cans!
Since I only have one, it has to be my Remington .22 LR Nylon Model 66. Bought it brand new in 1968 for $40.00. Have shot literally thousands of rounds thru it. It is a blast to carry - not much heavier than some .22 handguns. It only weighs 4 lbs.
I almost bought one of those before. I wasn't sure how I felt about the stock. Yours has obviously held up well though!
I ended up buying a Savage .22 Magnum instead.

I didnt put the scope on it dad did that long before i was born. I got the original back peep sight just cant find any screws for it. Still an awesome rifle dont shoot as much as i use to because parts are hard to find but still my favorite.
