The local Wally world has steel cased (Tula brand I think) for under .05 per round, next cheapest is federal for about .07 per round, anyone heard of issues shooting steel cases in glocks?

What? 7 cents a round? $7 for a 100 rounds! Tell me where you get ammo this cheap cause I'm driving there and buying it all!

Cci blazer? That's aluminum isn't it? Wolf may very well be steel, bought about 500 rounds of it prob 10 years or so ago, think it was less than $4 a 50 count box at a gun show at the time, ended up reselling it when I sold my9mm s&w not long after, may have shot a box of it, not enough to remember if it was steel or brass tho

Steel ammo is safe to shoot through a glock and is what I currently use in my g17. I actually found it operates better with steel cases in that my slide would not lock back after the last round with brass casings. I initially thought it was an issue with my magazines but after using steel has gone to slide lock every time. The only problem with steel cases are that they are hard on internal parts, primarily the extractor but that's easily replaced and cheap to boot. With that said, I have put 4,000 steel rounds through my glock with zero issues.

Moot point, since I went back to buy a few boxes (steel Tula, was actually 9.47 per 50, vs right at 12 for the next cheapest, fed red box) and they were out, somebody musta stocked up, when I went by Friday at lunch they had prob 30-40 boxes of tula.... :(

Have you ever thought of buying bulk ammo online?

As far as the ammo goes, it's fine.

I have, thought about maybe splitting a 1000 rnd order with a friend, but that's still a lot of money to drop at once on ammo:) haven't looked a it depth tho because I haven't seen anything that seemed like a great deal, at least when I had the extra funds

I've found some good deals on luckygunner.com and you can buy 50-1000 rounds depending on what your wallet allows. You can also find some quality reloads from what I'm told for even cheaper. Either way online is the only way I go.

There's a website that I've bought some steel case ammo from and it functioned fine.
    Centerfiresystems.com l
I believe I bought 500 rounds for $90 and $10 shipping. The shipping was quick and it ships from Texas. Its wolf/tpa ammo. I have a kkm precision barrel on my g17 so it shot perfect. The only complaint I have about the steel case ammo is the way it goes in the magazine. It feels rough once you get past about 10 rounds.
