Dad went out shooting today with our church men's group and took his P250 compact .40 cal. First shot down range and boom. He sent me a text saying he's coming into work shopping tomorrow. I have a Glock 23 and a beretta PX4 storm on hold for him in. Any other recommendations for him to look at? I want him to look at the P226 but he's not a 9mm fan

I really like the M&P and would recommend it as well.

I'm a Glock guy, so I would recommend a glock, I'm a 9mm fan however, so I would say the 19. Aside from that, it's hard to go wrong with Springfield XD/XDm or S&W M&P.

The Sig 226 can be had in 9mm, 40 S&W or .357 Sig.

Sorry to see that his 250 had a KB. I've heard of quite a few issues with the 250s, but not any other KBs that I can recall. I hope he's uninjured.

We have the 19 and a M&P in a 9mm. I wish we had an XD or XDM but unless we get one tomorrow we're out completely. I hope he gets the 226, I'm in love with that gun

Not much in the line of details, What type of ammo, Reloads? I have heard of some .40S&W having weak cases(IIRC) When was the last time it was shot or cleaned?
    Kind of sucks either way.
I have never had any issues with my P250, None of the "common"(not very really) issues the P250 was known for.
Good luck to your father, Glad no one was hurt.

Yeah they were his first batch of reloads. The casing looks like it was a weak one from the hole in it. I'll be sure to tell him that they're known for being weak cases though. We're gonna go shoot later today though

Good news. The slide and trigger mechanism work just fine, just the lower end of the receiver was blown out. We're sending it back to sig and for like 50 bucks they'll replace the handle

The FNP-40 or the FNX-40 are worth a look. There are several P2xx models (I like the P239 SAS) that are nice too.

If he likes his 250 I would have him look at the SP2022, but the 226 is a great choice.

He ended up with a glock 22. He used to have the 23 and wanted the full size. He's way more accurate than with the sig. Now all I have to do is to convince him to keep it for me to use haha
