S&W 357 mag 4" model 62 . Was it ever made? Experimental model ? Any in production at any time ? If a few were made, what would be the approx value ? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Pictures would help a lot. Is the gun stainless or blued? I did a little searching at the S&W forum (a great place for info on S&W guns BTW) and I saw no references to a model 62. They made a Model 65 which was a 66 with fixed sights...

I do not personally own it . I saw it in a shop. It is stainless. One site I looked up, which stated all s&w models, said it was experimental. Unfortunatly I can not remember the site so I was looking for confirmation. Thanks for your input on this one.

Data over on handloads lists 62 as experimental, not issued.

Have no listing for a model 62 in any of my references, OTHER than a very small 22 LR auto (Escort).

Whenever a gun seller starts telling you the fabulous story about THAT gun, remember- "Buy the gun, not the story."

BTW, I have a really great Ruger .22 pistol for sale. Similar to the Ruger Mark 3. The only made one made- usually referred to as the Pi model. Ruger found they did not have room on the frame for the full model number- 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510

Hey- make you a real good deal........:p

Seriously anyone that claims to have an unlisted, experimental handgun from S&W better have something to back that up. Like a letter from S&W.
