Is this true? BreakFree Powder Blast will damage Aluminum finish.

I read that BreakFree Powder Blast will destroy the finish on aluminum (finish will discolor and/or flake off). Is this true or not?

My Sig P220 have an aluminum frame and just glad I read this before using Powder Blast on it.

    Thank you.

Well, I spoke with Chris, the engineer at CLP/ Safariland. He advises that to meet environmental requirements from some states (Coughcaliforniacough) thye had to reformulate the product a little time back. It is a VERY strong solvent, and will react with most plastics and rubbers- so O rings, plastic gun parts, stock finishes, rubber grips etc are not really compatible- as are powder finishes of any type. Anodized aluminum is more durable, BUT the product is really made for STEEL firearms. Bottom line? I would not try it.
