I have military issue 12 gauge 00 Buckshot, but....
Now that it's out I'll be getting a few boxes and keeping
8 loaded in my Remington 870P for home protection.
It will be interesting if Hornady makes Critical Defense Slugs.
What do you keep loaded in your 12ga. HD shotgun?

Before I lost it all in the horrible tornado ;) it's usually Remington #1 Buck but I live in an apartment so I'm thinking of getting the Remington Home Defense 2x4 Load or the BB Load...I don't want to get the neighbor on accident...

I got my hands on some Brenneke buckshot a few years ago and keep them in my 1300. It's copper buffered shot and hits hard. It's too bad they don't make it anymore because I'm down to my last 5.
Not blasting Hornady's stuff but what does it offer over the 15rd packs of 00 Remington you can get at Wal Mart for $10?

Standard 00 Buckshot vs. Critical Defense...design separates the two. Both will kill a man- no doubt. Consistent tight patterns from a 18.5" barrel is what I look for, the tighter the better.

    Thats turkey shot aint it?

Pretty close to the smallest pellet diameter I ever considered for home defense-#4 buck.
Those 3" 41 pellet 4 buck shells with over 2 ounces of payload in em recoil like a magnum rifle round.

#1 or # 4 buckshot is what works best with my 870 ..i had the barrel sent to polychoke they cut it down installed their choke with compensator length is 20'' 9 settings on choke ...#4 works great on hogs so a burglar would be no problem ,as if i had to shoot one once he/she was down im gonna step on their chest and shoot em in head from about 1 foot anyway
