There's just something so iconic about the 45 auto.

And who can forget Ralphie, nearly "shooting his eye out" on Christmas morning?

Sorry, but Thomas Magnum carried a Colt 1911 in 9mm.

The gun shown in Eastwoods "Unforgiven" poster appears to be an 1858 Starr Army revolver, not a Schofield. Even though the Schofield is WAY cooler.

My favorite scene, the Collateral triple tap.

    Yo homie, that my briefcase?

Hollywood shows us why you should always keep your booger hook off the bang switch with Vincent's infamous negligent discharge:

Kind of partial to this scene as it was part of my job description while in the service.

"Easy, just don't lead them as much!"

Dang. I'd say that's about as close as a Hollywood actor will come to being a real bad ass.

Besides a obvious post with a Dirty Harry picture, this one is my favorite. The only thing is that I can for the love of God not figure out which make/model this is...:D

GAAHHH! It always makes me nervous when people point the barrel right at the camera.

There are several scenes where he is seen inserting a magazine into the weapon. The 9mm mags are very distinctive with an indented rib running down the front third of the mag body from top to bottom. There are also shots showing the muzzle and the barrel thickness helps to differentiate the 9mm from the .45 ACP versions.

Plus at that time they were having problems getting the .45ACP to reliabily shoot blanks.
