Anyone with experience with a Charles Daly Tactical 12 GA Pump Shotgun? Would this be a good Shotgun for HD for someone on a budget? Can pick one up for $225. Just wanted to know whether or not to save for something else or if this would work well.

I don't personally know about their shotguns, but the folks that own them seem to like them. They do make a pretty decent 1911.

$225 is a good price but what can you get a Mossberg/Maverick for?.

I've heard nothing bad about the Daly pumps, but I have heard a lot of bad about the semi-auto's with feed and cycling problems. It seems that over or under lubricating is the main cause so that wouldn't be the gun's fault.

The pumps are manufactured in Turkey and because they are imported they do not have the capability to add a pistol grip if you wanted to.

Charles Daly company is going out of business or they already have gone out and I don't know who will be handling warranty work that would be the only draw back that I see.

The Charles Daly Tactical shotguns I'm familiar with were made in China and they did have issues.

    I recommend the Mossberg's Maverick 88 Security (item # 31023).
The best bang for the buck. Nothing can beat that shotgun at it's price. Nothing.

I would stay away from Charles Daly for all of the reasons listed. I also second and third the Mossys. You should have no trouble finding one for around $225. A good used Mossy 500 should be less than $200. Also, there are plenty of replacement barrels and other goodies that can be had for the Mossys. If you are luck enough to find a Remmy 870 used for around $225, I would consider that route as well.

A gun store in Vegas is selling this same gun for $230. The guy tried telling me that it was much better than a Mossberg and that if I wait a few months to buy it that the price will go up dramatically because of the company that bought it. His argument for it being a good gun was that the cocking was smoother so it must be better.... I left the store...
