Posted this under "shotgun discussion" but figured it belonged here. It's my first time doing anything like this and I think it turned out pretty good.

Nice job. Just made my first try.
Practiced on a BB gun first...

    Awesome job!

How do you like the m4177? I have one and I love it.

    Sure thing.
I just sprayed it down with brake cleaner to remove all the oils
Emptied out the inside and taped off the areas I didn't want paint on
Did a coat of tan first over the entire shotgun then I grabbed local foliage (pine branches tall grasses sticks etc.) placed them over the shotgun random and did a coat of dark green, repeated with a light green and finally brown. I then put a coat of clear coat on it for protection. Pretty easy job all in all took about 3 hours

One of the best looking patterns I've seen in DIY.

    Great Job.

Would love to see sharp closeup pics of a few areas.

First off thank you and second which areas do you want to see. Ill try and get a shot of them but it seems every time I load something up on the site it loses resolution

Any area that you feel reflects a graphic description of your narrative.

It sounds easy enough, but thought a close up perhaps of the flat of the receiver might allow me to 'reverse engineer' spacing, layup, etc.

Ill throw some pictures up. Probably tomorrow when I go hunting to see how it blends in the woods. Another thing I think if you try to hard to get a cool pattern you'll just mess it up. It's all just throwing on random foliage

By no means is this a professional job! I rushed it and some areas look bad, card board stuck to the paint etc. I just wanted a camo pattern for hunting.

Very impressive, I thought it had been hydro-dipped!

Here's what it looked like out hunting and I found that skull just the way it the photo was taken. Can't figure out if it's a dog or coyotes
