Any 10mm hand loaders out there? First try for me with this round so any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Any way I have new Winchester brass, WLP primers, Hornady XTP 155 gr. Bullets, and Accurate #7 powder, my book says 11.9 gr. as a start and 15.1 gr. for max.
If anybody has experience with this round I’d love to hear your favorite recipe! Going to shoot them thru a virgin 1911 Kimber, so I’d like to get it right!
    Thanks!

I like IMR 4756 for 155gr. I run them around 7.3 gr for target. It says 8.6 for max.

Ive loaded 10mm with Bluedot, Unique, bullseye, PowerPistol, and 4756.
    Preferring 4756 and Unique.

MY 5" was a Stainless Target II. It seemed to shoot high pressure loads the best.

Thanks for the info. And thanks for being Willfully Armed.
I have the cases all primed, but think I’ll hold off on the loading and try and find some IMR tomorrow and save the #7 for my .40 loads. Looks like I can save a little money by using less powder !
I really want to go shoot the gun though:)

I use 231, Red Dot and Blue Dot for 10mm. The lightest bullet I use is my 175 gr hard cast truncated cone with 5.5 gr of Red Dot for about 1000fps. The Blue Dot at max book load and a 180 gr Gold Dot is good for 1250 fps

I use Precision Bullets Moly coated 185 grain bullets, and AA#7.

Doesn't shoot too bad at all. Here's a target using my Dan Wesson Razorback

Thanks Robocop and Gandog, Yeah the .40 bullets are still hard to find here in Utah, as well as the powders! I’ll try the #7 though after seeing those pics!
That is one seriously dead target! Nice shooting!:D

Having nice pistols helped. So did the fact both of them were wearing Crimson Trace Laser Grips. The 10mm is a Dan Wesson Razorback. The .40 S&W is a SIG P229.

Go to the Precision Bullets website. Their stated prices also include the shipping.

    10mm Auto

I prefer 170-175gn L-SWC. Almost any powder from 231/HP38 to H110/296 will work just fine. Some of the "better" powders (for both accuracy and performance are:
    VihtaVuori 3N38
    Alliant Blue Dot
    Accurate Arms #7
    Hodgdon Longshot
    Alliant 2400
    Accurate Arms #9

AA9 and 2400 are exceptional. One meters fantastically (AA9) and one is just so uniformly accurate in so many guns and loads (2400). I have had problems metering AA7, but if your powder measure handles it, it is well worth trying.
Some other noteworthy powders are Power Pistol, AA5, HS6, and Unique.
The 10mm Auto is very easy to reload for. No surprises. Work up your load just like any other.

My Glock likes 180 xtp's with Longshot. I had 155's running pretty consistent on Longshot, but they were doing almost 1500 FPS from a Lone Wolf barrel. Hornady catalog shows them to be meant for less than 1350 FPS. I'm still trying to find a load I like in that range. If you want 10mm info, check Glock Talk. Be careful though. Those boys like 'em HOT. Holy crap! Just realized this thread is almost a year old! What happened here?
