This is not your "walking in the woods" dove hunting shotgun. The Benelli Super 90 Tactical is made specifically for breaching door locks and laying down tons shotgun fire-power. It's 18.5" barrel with Muzzle brake pretty much tells the story. My Super 90 has the optional 8 shot tube, making it a 9 shot beast. I am told the cycling is so fast, you "can" fire all 9 rounds BEFORE the first spent shell hits the ground. I can't prove this first-hand as the recoil is too potent for me. Like most Benelli's, you can't use light loads as it will not properly cycle. The M1 version is now called an M4. They're really one of the same for practical purposes.

OK, I bought a Benelli 18" barrel M1 Super 90 that is factory equiped with 8 shot extension tube, Muzzle Brake, and pistol grip/shoulder stock combo. So basically it's an 8+1 Tactical shotgun.

I have a Benelli M1 super 90 shotgun with a tactical short barrel. I was wondering if anyone knows if i could change the short slug barrel out to a benelli waterfowl barrel 26" or 28" barrel? I dont

    Price: $1,200.00

Pros: Never jams no matter what load I use

    Cons: none

    Recommended? Yes

I bought my M-1 over 20 years ago and this is the only shot gun I ever owned I took it to a range and put 11/2 oz slugs in it firing as fast as possible and found the recoil extremity easy to manage with on target hits.

Then I decided to try skeet shooting and I was told I had to use light Dove ammo.

Out of 25 I hit 17 clay birds.

Later on I was asked which choke I used and found out I used the wrong one.

Knowing that the M-1 can fire any load and not fail gives me peace of mind for home protection
