An outstanding pair of bespoke cased percussion duelling pistols by Westley Richards - gun manufacturer to "His Royal Highness Prince Albert" in a fine mahogany case with ring pull handle to the lid and escutcheon bearing owners crest of a rising demi-eagle out of a crescent. Most probably that of Sir Henry Fox Bristowe, Q.C and Vice Chancellor to the Duchy of Lancaster of Beethorpe Hall, Notts. These pistols retaining virtually all of their original finish throughout, have 10 inch finely figured octagonal twist barrels which are engraved in old English "Westley Richards, 170 New Bond Street, LondonDESCRIPTION:
