Consider a Browning Hi Power ?? Should be able to find a used one in your price range. It's

For me a 9mm is more about a carry type weapon. For a range or competition gun I prefer a 1911

Have you tried firing it with the new recoil spring installed ?I bought a P13 lightweight in
94' and had the same exact issue with it out of the box. Tuned the extractor, no change.
