I've had Sigs for 15+ years and the spacing is normal for Sigs. It's the spring tension of the
magazine follower on slide latch. I find it helps mags drop faster when doing a speed reload.

You can never go wrong with a Sig, I've got three and one is a P226R in .40. I think that's a
good price ( mags are NOT cheap:))
