It will depend on what the barrel twist rate is on your rifle. Most 25/06 rifles made today use
a 1-10 twist rate,mine doesn't like to shoot any bullets lighter than 100 grains.A 1-12 or 1-14

Neither are 1000 yard cartridges. The .243 is a 400 yard varmint cartridge. The .260 is a nice
6.5, but even it's old ancestor the 6.5x55 was an 800 yard cartridge and that was with a scope
