  When using .410 shot shells doesn't the pistol become a short barrel shotgun? The states have different
  rules for it but it could be an issue with CCW. As for home defense I don't see why not.

  Really can't go wrong with the 30-06. I've put hundreds of the 180g PSPs through my cheapo Remmy 710,
  have to say fairly accurate for what it is.

  +1 for the Ruger P90, I picked one up years ago for $280 and it has yet to fail me. Lots of rounds
  through that unit, steel case or cheap ammunition no problem.

  You can get a receiver cover with a mount for rails. I picked one up at a show years ago, it came with a
  tri-rail.
