I always thought it was trolling, as in dragging a lure or bait throughthe water, and waiting

I compare light brass 12Gauge in a Mossberg 500 to any ammo you can shoot from a 30.06 bolt
action.The 30.06 has much less recoil, for me.

IMO, a compromise round. If you don't want to go to .44 mag, or .357, the 10mm is an option.
