  You also have the Leupold Rifleman series for around 200 bucks in the Cabelas catalog. Nikon Pro-staffs
  are a little less.

  Don't forget about the Leupold Vari-X II's,They are in that price range and caryy the lifetime warranty.

  And bullet construction. I wouldt hesitate to use my 270 on any 4 legged critter in N.A.( except BIG
  bears) with the right bullet.
