thanks for the info. the slide lock does in fact work, just had to press down on it
significantly harder than the glock 19 i used at the range.It'll become less stiff over time.

I had the same issues with mine - it's a break-in thing. All works well now. And I still use
the loader since it just makes it easier to me.
