    You've got to bear in mind that many are made in the Philippines...on old machinery that we
    sold them. Also, the people aren't paid to hold tolerances...they are paid to make an end
    product that works...

    5.5lb trigger, and quite smooth. I changed out the stock mags for a set I picked up from
    Brownell's. As for recoil, I'd say it's on par with other .45's.

    Citadel would be one to look at as well. They are made by Armscor, just like RIA, but come
    loaded with factory custom features. If you search hard enough, you can find them in the sub
    $500 range.
