  We would skin and cut the meat out for predator bait fox and yotes. Let it sit in a jar in the
  sun for a week gets good and stinky....a splash of skunk essence to top it off works great

  When I was a kid my dad would take me out hunting and trapping with him and catch them by hand
  and snap their necks for trapping bait.

  Yea it could but if you try to put it outside the cats normal traveling grounds and has no need
  to search for food it may not... anyways its a live trap no harm.

  I had skunks with the same problems at my grandmothers house found the live trap works good
  closer to their assumed living environment then a 22 will do the trick
