Well it depends if you are talking about a folder or a fixed blade if it is a folder you better
be really good at deploying it or your knife better be waved I'll talke take the second option

A knife would be useful if someone attempted to disarm you by grabbing your gun. With one hand
or arm occupied trying to keep the gun in your holster or pointed away. You could stab him

Also, indoors it migh be possible for some one to hide around corner a grab the rifle, this is

A bayonet will increas the chance that a person you are merely trying to menace (i.e. convince
to surrender so you do not have to shoot them, if the have a kinfe or something).
