I have not seen many AR's that have a lot of play between the upper and lower. The DPMS that I
got recently (.308) and my friend's (5.56mm) are very tight, you almost need a plastic punch to
    get the p...

  • Posted in thread: 1911, or AR-15. Which one would you get first? on 06-29-2015 at 06:49 PM
For $1200 you could get both. I have a Kimber (CDP) and love it, but also have a RIA (Rock
Island) 1911. It was a bit under $600 and came with two barrels, 9mm and .22 TCM. The TCM is a
    screamer, 2050...

I just use this one: works as well as this one marketed by NIC Industries, quite a price
    difference!

Even a $480 DPMS Oracle has forged receivers. There are a lot of AR snobs that will tell you
that you have to buy a Daniel Defense, LMT, etc. I doubt any of us will have to repel at
    assault in Falluja...

Mine is also a 4 inch (Kimber CDP Pro) and it does have a much stiffer spring than a stock 5
inch. It also has a bull barrel that is bushingless. I think the heavier spring and bull barrel
    helps contr...

Sounds like you are due for a new recoil spring anyway, but the problem might well be extractor
tension. I got a Weigand kit with a brass tab that you slip under the extractor, and a tool
    that adds te...

The Tenifer process goes way down into the pores of the metal, so just blast as normal to prep.
One of the guns I did was a G19 that the previous owner had polished the slide to look like
    nickel. He h...

I got these in a trade about ten years ago thinking I'd pick up a Contender frame. I'd just
like to sell them now. Very good shape, barrels are 21" long, and chambered for .17 Remington,
    and 7-30 Wate...

I have a new matte black, ambi safety from Cylinder and Slide that I did not need. Brownell's
sell these for $58, I paid $13 more from a gunsmith because Brownell's didn't have them in
    stock for a lon...
