I'm looking to purchase a used XD40 40 cal pistol and I was wondering if you all would ever buy

Some seem to think a smaller caliber but with more ammo is better than a larger caliber with
less ammo? Is that correct? 9mm=(11-17 rounds) .45acp=(8-12 rounds)
