  rifleman55 i ordered the savage mark II FV and a redfield 3x9-40 i may go to a higher end
  higher power scope later but alot of people like the redfields because they are made by leupold
  and i have not...

  i was in same boat as you but i bit the bullet and ordered the savage mark II with the heavy
  barrel and accutrigger today, now im looking at a bsa catseye scope for about $85 plus the $260
  on the gun ...

  i say buy a springfield armory or colt and put rest of money into smith work and ammo thats
