My 1893 is in 32-40. I bought it about 1965 in Vermont. Interesting point here......when I
removed the steel butt plate, there was a small piece of parchment under it with a man's name
printed on it. ...Posted in thread: Marlin 1893 on 12-11-2012 at 03:31 PM
I have a beautiful Marlin 1893 (built in 1902) in prime contition that I have owned since the
mid 60's. I am maintaining it, in the same condition as when I purchased it so long ago. My
question is, d...Posted in thread: my remington 870 is not extracting. on 08-14-2012 at 04:39 PM
In addition to what hiwall indicated which is a good first step, make sure you are using new,
clean ammunition which shouldn't bind. Should that fail, I would get an armorer or gun smith to

I have recently purchased a new Weatherby Vanguard in .223. A friend asked if I was going to
break-in the barrel. Honestly, I didn't give it much thought, although I have read articles on
the subject ...Posted in thread: customizing my 10/22 on 11-13-2011 at 02:49 PM
Thanks to all for the valuable information. I have narrowed the choices for all the after
market parts and am about to get going on this project. I elected to purchase the Timney
trigger group and the...Posted in thread: customizing my 10/22 on 11-07-2011 at 05:47 PM
That's good information and I'm inclined to go in that direction rather than the drop in
assembly. thanksPosted in thread: .22 Marlin 39 on 11-07-2011 at 05:42 PM
They are truly a beautiful rifle. It's a shame that the pitting and corrosion is so rampant on
that weapon. I am working on aquiring one myself of the same vintage as yours. The fact that it
is manufa...Posted in thread: customizing my 10/22 on 11-07-2011 at 05:15 PM
It's finally time to get moving on customizing my 10/22. The barrels and stocks available are
pretty straight forward, but after-market trigger assemblies are somewhat a mystery to me. I
see plenty of...
