World War I started when Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated with a .380 caliber. I'd say it
works just fine. It won't have the stopping power of .45 especially our past 25 yards. Not too
    many 25 + ya...

Respectfully of course....:DI go to the range...ALOT. I see the guys hammering away with their
.45's and lucky if they can group at all at 7 yards. Beyond that, many do not hit center mass
    on all 7 or...

  • Posted in thread: How often do you clean your pistols on 09-14-2014 at 10:58 AM
Carry guns before each range session. Other guns, when they need them. Bores get cleaned when
accuracy starts to fall off. Unless you shoot lead, handgun bores don't need to be cleaned that
    often and ...

Yep. Boyd stocks. McArbo spring kits. DIP triggers, etc. You can easily spend $200 or more on
    upgrades.

I think a compact 45 loaded with +P is definitely in the spare tire category. Pocket guns are
fix-a-flat. Full size 10 mm is more like a tow truck.

Um, hitting a bone is about as likely as a head shot or CNS shot. The only shattered bones that
would physically put someone down are pelvis, leg, and spinal shots.Seems like you may be
    fooling yourse...

shot placement. doesn't matter the caliber or the number of rounds a person has, if they can't
make accurate shots. yes, a bigger round is better than a smaller one, if you hit your intended
    target wh...

  • Posted in thread: Bear Round on 09-12-2014 at 05:13 AM
Bear spray is likely to be more effective than both. Bears are hypersensitive to capsaicin.
Shooting one with a standard defensive caliber will really piss it off. Spraying one in the
    face will send i...

  • Posted in thread: Thoughts on 22mag for squirels on 09-09-2014 at 04:10 AM
I like WRF loads for late season squirrels. They chamber and shoot just fine in the WMR. Any 45
grain or 50 grain WMR load will probably work fine without too much damage. 30 grain loads just
    blow the...

  • Posted in thread: Why all the craziness with .22LR ammo? on 09-04-2014 at 09:07 PM
picked up 6 box's of American eagle today at Dicks for $2.49 a box but the box's were "40"
count not 50. so it looks like the ammo makers are getting in on the less for more
    boat.American Eagle hollow...
