  I carry Winchester Ranger T 230gr +p in my colt combat commander, and sometimes Federal hydrashocks
  230gr. Also when I carry my FS Smith & Wesson M&P 357 sig I carry Winchester Ranger T 125gr.

  That is normal for all m&p's. In a combat situation, you will not have to rack the slide.

  In Texas it is legal for an 18 yo to own firearms (handgun and long arm). You just can't buy from ffl.
  Also can get a CHL at 18 if in military or honorably discharged.
