The serial will give you the date of manufacture and potential value. What are you planning on
doing with it? Steel shot is a big no no. I usually use only #6-#8 shot.

I have carried a 1911 in public. It is my favorite but it can get a little heavy and awkward
depending on the weather. Otherwise it is in my glovebox or open carry at home.

They made the announcement several months ago if I recall. They would continue to sell shot
guns and bolt actions only. Funny thing is that I have still seen mini 14s at several stores.
