You need to get the 38 s+w ammo not the 38 special. The 38 s+w case length and OAL is shorter

Another powder you might want to look at is 231 or HP38. I use it for the 38, 9mm, 9mak,44
special, 45acp and 380. I would be very careful about making reloads for friends and especially
selling them ...

I love my RIA compact too. It is reliable accurate and easy to shoot. With around 2000 rounds
through it, it is in my EDC rotation.10767314 rounds at 10 yards.
