If it was a aluminum trigger guard it was probably anodized. Aluma-hydes a good choice for a
coating as would be Gunkote, Duracoat or even Cerakote. Birchwood Casey has a blackening finish

Practiced and then repeated then repeated again. Definitely am not going to try my hand on an
actual part like the bolt release on my Win Mod 70 until my confidence is there and it's not

Bullets for .45 cal are readily available. Loaded ammunition or cartridges for the 45-75 and
45-60 are not readily available and what is there is expensive. Have you considered reloading?
