Spittin, for most of my .38Spl.+.45acp. I use WW 231/Hodgdon HP-38. They are now the same powder. I like

Why would you not need a caliper? You need to check OAL, case length trim length I check bullet diameter

+1 on the 231. Lately I have been using Red Dot because it is the preferred powder for 12ga 1 1/8 oz
