It's not the ammo itself that is corrosive, it's the primers...Boxer primed ammo is
non-corrosive...Berdan primed ammo is corrosive, (always exceptions to the rule) but the

I want to buy another Mosin. I think they would be great defensive weapons (long range). I keep

If you were reloading I would say that 30-06, as it can be reloaded to accomidate many
different loads weither its targets to yotes to elk. But I come back to a 308 for your purpose
or perhaps another...

Before someone comments on some of the more aggressive users, can we not turn this thread into
a pissing contest? Lets just talk about the rifle and if you claim certain accuracy,

nikon prostaff 3x9x40, can be had for 169.00 to 199.00;depending where you go. if your budget
is about half that i say bushnell banner.If money is tight I'd go with this suggestion.

The only differences between a 3" receiver and a standard one are the ejector and ejector

Here's a picture of it with the scope mounted on it. I used a 1 pc dovetail/weaver rail mount
and put a Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40 scope with Leupold rings that I've had setting around from a
gun I trade...

Hopefully that ruger American doesn't fall apart on you(sarcasm). And I agree about target
shooting with a 30-06. Not the most pleasant cartridge to take to an all day range session.
