I have enjoyed reading your correspondence and w the exception of your opinion of Roy Weatherby, I either agree w you or can understand why you take a stand. I would have made this a public thread but I didn't want to get
"the crazier" elements of FTF excited.

W/O reliving the Connor-Keith dispute, I believe certain heavy for caliber rounds just kill far in excess of their ballistic prowess to do so. Elmer worshipped at the alter of
sectional density from his lessons of guiding Elk hunters and went to the 18-19 century approach to humanely harvest large game.

The 6.5s have never been popular in the US but they have dropped a lot of game in Europe. The
9.3 X 62 is .366 but is essentially the same as the 35 Whelen. This cartridge, a humble 06 necked up to 35 cal is a deer, hog, Elk, bear hammer. Many an African farmer has used the 9.3 vs the immortal 375 h&h. (257 W, 6.5 x
784, 35 Whelen/9.3 x 62)

I know all too well that bullet placement is paramount but just can't seem to shake this theory that some calibers just have an edge in stopping power. Feel free to buzz this by other people you trust
and see if they have an opinion one way or another.
