I have Hogue's w/finger grooves, on my 1911. Love 'em! I used to shoot with gloves on to avoid
getting bitten. I improved and became consistent with my grip and don't need them any more.

I don't have a 96 but I do have four 92s. The only mod I've made has been to replace the stock
grips with Houge because I have long fingers and the Hogues make the grip fit my hand better.
