I'll keep the ambi safety installed since its shooting well without it. Maybe in the future
I'll have a gunsmith fit the single safety, but since it's not a carry gun I'm not so worried
    about the safe...

I'll try a Wilson brand mag for the .45, and run some rounds through it. If that doesn't fix
the problem, I'll contact RIA and go from there. Thanks

I put everything back to stock and it shot like a champ. I then put the other back strap/
magwell in, and again it shot smooth. No FTE, or FTF like I had before. So it's got to be the
    single safety I ...

I understand, and you're right, I should have shot it more before the changes. I'm going to get
it out today, and shoot a few boxes through it to see if maybe a good cleaning was what it
    needed. If no...

I removed the slide, and put a cartridge in as you suggested. The extractor held it in place
until a hard hit popped it out. The extractor looks to be in good shape with no damages or
    deformations not...

I just got back from the range with the 9mm. First off, I love the magwell. It made fast mag
changes so easy and I wasn't having to look at the gun to guide the mag in. The only issue I
    had was the sc...

That left finger of the spring was sitting underneath the sear, and not on top of it as it
should be. I could tell that there had to be something putting pressure on it, but I didn't
    notice the spring...

It was the spring, thanks for the help. I didn't have it sitting right on the sear.

Yes, I apologize, I'm still learning about these 1911's. With the gun stripped, if I push on
the ears of the sear, the hammer will lock back. But with the sear spring isn't contacting the
    sear to push...

I took on two projects today on my 9mm 1911. First, I removed the ambi-safety, and installed a
left side safety. I also installed a backstrap/ magwell. When I got it back together, I found
    that the di...
