I bought my early eighties incarnation of the Springfield Armory GI Model twenty years ago. I
    am 54 now.

  • Posted in thread: Need help finding a Smith model 10 on 06-08-2014 at 12:34 AM
Model 10's can be found in gun shops all over the place. They are very, very common. They are
also most excellent handguns. Shooting mine is an almost decadent pleasure.

SKS is always a good choice. An unmodified Saiga in X39 or .223 might also merit your
attention. There is beginning to be a lot more price competition in AR's lately. In a few
    months you might be able...

No available camera here, but I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 in an "Uncle Mikes #3" Inside the
pocket holster. When I need to be ultra discreet I carry a Kel-Tec P-32 in the same rig.

  • Posted in thread: Ammo Hoarding Driving Me Crazy! on 02-10-2013 at 03:09 AM
I have a fair amount of ammo on hand. I would have liked to have a bit more than the 1700
rounds of .22LR I have now. All I have been able to find in recent weeks at the Wal-Mart has
    been shotgun shel...

  • Posted in thread: Any Cyclists out there? on 08-15-2012 at 03:25 AM
In the late 19th century Europe, when long distance cycling was the rage, special handguns were
manufactured just for cyclists to fend off dog attacks. One French gun was called the Velo-dog
    and was o...

  • Posted in thread: Getting about $400 soon- which should I get? on 08-14-2012 at 12:08 AM
    I have a 7.62X39 Saiga and I am very happy with it. Ruger P95's have a pretty good reputation;
heavy, blocky, and they tend to go bang when you pull the trigger.

  • Posted in thread: NRA delema? on 10-15-2011 at 10:22 PM
Well, in this "not so great" culture we live in "money is the mother's milk of politics" and
the nature of the game is to rabble rouse a little bit and overstate the problem. Its just the
    nature of th...

  • Posted in thread: Gun Cleaning Input on 10-15-2011 at 10:16 PM
I try to clean every time I shoot. Sometimes I wait a few days before I get to it. .22's and
AK's sometimes get shot twice before cleaning.

Bersas and Firestorms are both made in Argentina by Bersa. There are two different American
    importers I understand.
