I've seen many a dead thug with a double fed or stovepiped hi-point in his hand. I would never
trust my life to one.So there is a lot of "Dead Thugs" in middle TN, that died with the gun
    still in thei...

I just picked up a used (only made in 2005 and 2006?) Taurus model 607 in Stainless. Ported
Barrel, nice rubber grips, and decent sights. Heavy, accurate, and very nice to shoot. Finish
    is really nice...

I also find the stock Smith Grips uncomfortable. It can really make a difference when shooting
a full tilt .357 load. Between the most current Smith (a 686+ with CT laser grips) and the
    latest Ruger G...

+ 1 for a Ruger GP100. One of the finest shooting .357's I have shot. That being said, I just
picked up a Taurus 607 with 6 1/2" barrel that is very, very nice for the money. Another very
    nice shootin...

[QUOTE=Moe M.;415667]A .38 special round is a better manstopper than a 9mm, especially in round
nose/ball type ammo. Not quite sure where you have derived this from, but this is the first
    time I have ...

I have also heard good things about the Taurus's and do like the slide hold open feature, but
it was not out when I bought by P3AT Kel Tec. That being said, I still have my Kel Tec. Great
    gun for this...

I would personally feel comfortable carrying a .22LR.

I posted this on another site a while back & didn't get a lot of response so I'll ask you: what
do you think of a Ruger 10/22 for home defense? I think a 10/22 with dbl. 50 round clips loaded
    with CCI...
