If versatility is what you are after, then 5.56 is the way to go. I love my .300 blackout a

My advice is that you start with a 5.56. Play around with it. Learn from any mistakes, figure
out what you really like...and then maybe set up a spendier 5.56 (or 223 Wylde) that fits you
