The Ruger is built like a tank. I did have a cylinder issue early on with mine (for awhile it
was a common problem that's been fixed) and sent it back in to Ruger but it was problem free

Probably right about loading 6, leaving the top hole empty is just old school force of habit.

I try to keep it nice and clean with that same Hoppes and brass brush technique, but a few
shots at the range and its right back to black. It really is the hardest part to keep clean.
