All of my .308 brass is trimmed to 2.015 and loaded with an OAL of 2.80. I shoot the loads I
make in both my NM M1A and Savage bolt-action rifle with very good results.

6.0 grains of Unique is a good load and safe to use with plated bullets.

Hoppe's #9 is great for preserving metal and blued surfaces. I have always wiped my guns down
with Hoppe's after cleaning them and the bluing on all of them looks new, even my '94 that is

I have always wiped my guns down lightly with Hoppes #9 after cleaning and I have never had

I think I will keep it simple and not use those bullets again. I sold all of the loads I had.
From now on it will only be copper jacked bullets through my 1911. The copper seems to come out
    real easy ...

I shoot only copper-jacketed bullets in my firearms because I have had some bad experiences
with lead fouling. I haven't had any trouble getting the copper fouling out. Recently I shot
    some of my frie...

My experience is the 270 shoots best with 130 grain bullets(ymmv).Same here. I have found that
the .270 seems to perform the best with 130-grain bullets.

My choice for 1000-yard shooting would be the .338 Lapua.

  • Posted in thread: how much power do you like? on 05-31-2013 at 12:42 AM
I would like to have a rifle chambered in .338 Lapua. It is a very accurate cartridge and has
plenty of power for stopping big creatures.
