I have both 308 and 243s and if you keep the range on deer at 250 yds. or less it really won't
make much difference. The 308 will carry more energy at long range with the heavier bullets but

My son had some firearms stored in less than ideal conditions for a few months. The Benelli and

.243 win,260 rem, 7mm-08, 6.5x55. Any of these with the right loads in a properly fitting gun

The 405 gr loads are mild recoil/low pressure loads, the 350 gr hp loads are hotter and kick
about like a 12 ga slug.

The BLR is a nice rifle, expensive not as smooth as a win and not as nice a trigger pull as a
bolt action. The one I shot (308) was accurate and comfortable to shoot.
