i agree that a 22-250 is a little bit small for deer season, i mean you want the animal to die right away not to wound the thing and have it run off. personally the bigger calibre would be my choice...

I found it at my local gun shop ( i live in Canada ps ) they often get in old surplus military guns and it came in on a shipment so i picked one up for relatively cheap, its a .270 with a Mauser bolt...
